On 29 May 2024, Jidu gave a talk titled “Multiphysics, Multiscale Modeling of Freeze-Thaw Behavior in Granular Media” at the GeoShanghai International Conference 2024 (26–29 May 2024), held in Shanghai, China.
The talk presented a THM-coupled material point method for freezing and thawing granular media, together with a multiscale MPM-DEM approach for ice-bonded soils subject to freeze-thaw cycles, joint work with Prof. Jidong Zhao, Dr. Weijian Liang and Dr. Shiwei Zhao. The accompanying paper is published in IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science.
