July 23, 2024

From 21 to 26 July 2024, Jidu and Dr. Shiwei Zhao attended the 16th World Congress on Computational Mechanics and 4th Pan American Congress on Computational Mechanics (WCCM-PANACM 2024), held at the Vancouver Convention Centre in Vancouver, Canada.
On 23 July, Jidu gave a talk titled “Multiphysics, Multiscale Modeling of Freeze-Thaw Behavior in Granular Media”, joint work with Prof. Jidong Zhao, Dr. Weijian Liang and Dr. Shiwei Zhao.
During the congress, Jidu had the pleasure of meeting Prof. Ha H. Bui and Prof. Nasser Khalili, as well as Prof. Deborah Sulsky, one of the originators of the material point method.
Vancouver’s stunning scenery and pleasant summer weather made it a truly memorable and happy trip.
