Talk at the Southeast University Young Scholars Forum

From 24 to 27 December 2025, Jidu attended the Young Scholars Forum hosted by Southeast University in Nanjing, China, where he learned about the university’s talent recruitment policies.

At the sub-forum of the School of Civil Engineering, Jidu gave a talk titled “Multiphysics and Multiscale Large-Deformation Modeling of Geomaterials”, presenting his research and his work at HKUST and UC Berkeley. The forum offered a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas with many young scholars in civil and geotechnical engineering, and Jidu made many new friends.

During the visit, Jidu also caught up with Dr. Chaomin Shen, a senior colleague from his master’s research group at Hohai University, who kindly treated him to a wonderful dinner. Here’s to a lasting friendship!
