Refined constitutive modelling of widely graded granular soils incorporating fractional particle breakage
Widely graded granular soils change their gradation as particles break, and this shifts their critical state.
Building on breakage tests with artificially dyed particles, this collaborative work proposes a fractional breakage evolution model, a gradation-dependent critical state line, and a state-dependent dilatancy relation based on fractional-order plasticity. Together they form a refined constitutive model that reproduces triaxial tests on five granular soils under different loading conditions.
